Senator Odebiyi provides logistics in support of fight against herdsmen attack on kinsmen

The Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Tolu Odebiyi has provided logistics for vigilante group saddled with the responsibility of protecting the villagers from further attack by Fulani herdsmen in the district.

Penpushing reports that, made the provision when he visited Orile Igbooro, where rampaging herders allegedly attacked and killed four persons, including children and women, as well as inflicting injuries on other villagers.

The Senator who lamented level of destruction caused by the gun carrying herdsmen said it was wrong to keep quiet when the herdsmen who bore arms and AK47 are spontaneously killing his people.

Penpushing further reports that, Odebiyi who is the Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT), therefore appealed to President Muhammed Buhari to rise up to the criminal activities of the herdsmen before it get out of hand

The Ogun West Senator also paid the medical bills of10 people who were critically injured due to the horrific attack perpetuated by the herdsmen, and pledged to provide borehole to Orile Igbooro community within a week to reduce the suffering of the people.

Penpushing also reports that, he noted that the Nigerian government must protect its citizens as they go about their lawful businesses anywhere in the country, emphasising need  to provide logistics for the local vigilante groups in order to secure and urgently provide defensive protocols for the environment.

Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, investigation conducted by Penpushing revealed that, number of women and children have fled the community for the safety of their lives following incessant attacks by the herdsmen
