OGUN GOVERNMENT INSISTS ON 50% CRITERIA FOR PROMOTION IN SCHOOLS

The Commissioner noted that there was no point deceiving students that they were doing well when they were not, adding that the repercussion of such was seen in students’ poor performances in external examinations.

Penpushing further reports that Mujota added that the students when appropriately challenged, have capacity to compete globally.

 ‘’We should not lie to our children that they were doing well, when clearly they were performing poorly in external examinations. Our children have the creative capacity to compete globally; they needed to be challenged appropriately for them to experience the height they aimed for’’, she said.

 She commended the students for imbibing the spirit of leadership right from school, stating that this would put them in the right stead as they grow up in life.

The Commissioner enjoined parents to collaborate with government in providing an enabling environment for their wards and see their efforts on them as future investment.

In his response, President, All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Chief Ebenezer Ogundele lauded government for its prompt response to the adequate supply of necessary materials for the exercise.

The Confederation boss who is also the Principal Adenrele High School, Oke-Nla, Ifo, noted that students’ performances in the last West Africa School Certificate Examination (WASCE) was better than the previous years.

Penpushing reports that, schools visited were; Ifo High School, Coker Ibogun, Anglican Grammar School, Oke-Nla, Adenrele High School, Oke-Nla and Methodist High School, Arigbajo, all in Ifo Local Government Area of the State

  1. That is correct thanks for the info but I don’t believe only the students are at fault the teachers also contributes to the failure of students so stop blaming the students alone and check the illiterates you hired in the school in the name of calling them teachers
