
All Progressives Congress endorses Yayi as governorship flag bearer in Ogun State ahead 2027 elections
The caucus meeting of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State on Monday announced Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly called Yayi, as the party consensus governorship candidate ahead of the poll.
Penpushing reports that this was made public at the strategic meeting of the leadership and stakeholders held at the All Progressives Congress (APC) headquarters located at Iyana Mortuary axis of Moshood Abiola way, Abeokuta
The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun made the pronouncement of endorsement of the Senator as the party flagbearer at the meeting where discussions centred on succession plans and preparations ahead of the next election cycle.

Penpushing further reports that Abiodun addressing party members and stakeholders declared that the party had already reached a decision on Adeola as its preferred candidate., and equally reflected on political continuity within the party.
The Governor who is currently serving a second term emphasized the need for unity in selecting a successor capable of sustaining the party’s dominance in the state, stressing that he was pleased to see Adeola as his preferred successor.
Penpushing also reports that Abiodun emphasized that he would do everything to ensure that the consensus candidate of the party wins the next governorship election in the state in 2027.
The consensus candidate who currently represents Ogun West Senatorial District and chairs the Senate Committee on Appropriations, shortly after the pronouncement rose to appreciate party members
