10 months after assuming office: Governor Obaseki submits list of 11 commissioner-nominees to assembly

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has forwarded  names of eleven commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly for confirmation, and they include: Oluwole Osamudiamen Iyamu, (SAN); Obehi Akoria; Joan Osa Oviawe; Osaze Ethan Uzamere and Monday Osaigbovo.

Penpushing reports that, the Secretary to the Edo Government, Osarodion Ogie,made this known in a statement on Wednesday, adding that others Marie Edeko Joseph Eboigbe; Moses Agbukor; Isoken Omo; Andrew Emwanta and Mrs. Otse Momoh-Omorogbe.

The Governor in similar vein appointed two Special Advisers which include:Crusoe Osagie(Special Adviser, Media Projects) and Sarah Esangbedo, (Special Adviser, Strategy, Policy, Projects and Performance Management).

Penpushing further reports that, it is recalled that Obaseki was sworn-in for a second term on 12 November, 2020, but till date has been governing the state without cabinet members, having dissolved the State Executive Council on 11 November, a day before he and his Deputy, Philip Shaibu, were inaugurated

The Governor it is recalled during the valedictory executive council session held at Government House in Benin City, expressed appreciation to the council members for their selfless service to the state.

“Since I became governor, I didn’t sack any commissioner, but rather, they sacked me by resigning from my cabinet. What is important in government are the core values of truth, justice and fairness,” he stated
