Yoruba Day Festival in London to hold September 23

The Yoruba in United Kingdom will converge on the country in September 23, 2023 to experience culture, music and unity, which is a family day event to mark the end of Kiriji war that brought all Omoluabi together under a roof as one.

Penpushing reports that Oloye Lekan Alabi, who is the cultural ambassador of Ile-Ife, the Yoruba source made this known during a visit to Olowu of Owu Kingdom of Egbaland, Oba Matemilola in his palace in Abeokuta.

The notable accomplished journalist accompanied by the Orunto-designate Abiodun Lashile, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji(Founder Penpushing Media) and Dare Folarin, a veteran journalist to the palace  explained that the event is scheduled to take place at Concord House 23-27 Kemp road Dagenham RMS 1st in London

Penpushing further reports that Alabi explained that the ceremony will in same vein addressed the importance of indigenous language in technological advancement, adding that it will hold between 2 to 8pm

The Ibadan high chief said the royal fathers of the day include Oba Olushola Alao(Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Oladipo Olaniyan and Oba (Prof) Adeyemi Obalanlege(Olota of Ota), while special award will be presented to  Kareem Adeyemi (Borussia Dortmund Striker)

Penpushing also reports that Alabi who is the Special Guest of Honour at the event said Nigerian High Commissioner to United Kingdom, Alhaji Sarafa Tunji Isola and Nigerian Ambassador to Hungary Ambassador Dr Modupe Enitan Irele are Special Guest of Honour as well

The Ibadan born Alabi added that keynote speakers are Barrister Dele Ogun, Bamidele Malik Adeolu and Dr Gbenga Fagborun, and equally called on participants to come and enjoy Yoruba heritage, culture, art, music, fashion, pageantries and food among others
