Oyo state governor’s wife empowers 750 women

The wife of Oyo State Governor Engr. Mrs Tamunominini Makinde,has empowered 750 women in Ogbomosho and Ibarapa geo-political zone of State, a programme in  collaboration with local government chairmen in the state.

Penpushing reports that, Makinde explained that the empowerment program was to cushion effect of economic hardship on women across the state, saying that it will also go a long way in stabilizing their financial income.

The first lady while speaking with journalists after handing over the equipments to the women in Ogbomosho and Igboora respectively, noted that the program was part of her husband fulfillment of electioneering campaign promises towards alleviating suffering of the masses.

The Governor’s wife, however, urged the women to make use of the items distributed to them judiciously, adding that the governor is passionate about well-being of women across the state.

Penpushing further reports that some of the beneficiaries thanked Makinde for her gestures, promising to use the items judiciously, pledging their support towards making the dream of the present government come to reality, adding that they are ready to support Governor Makinde for second term come 2023.

The dignitaries at the event include Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Bayo Lawal, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Alhaja Faosat Saani, Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on Diaspora, Mrs. Bolanle Sarumi, and Mrs Christianah Abioye among others.

Meanwhile, the distributed items for the empowerment program include hair dressing dryers, cooking gas cylinder, burners, grinding machines, and swewing machine among others.
