International Non-Governmental Organisation appoints Apostle Achudume as Peace Advocate
A Non-Governmental Organisation known as United Nations Positive Livelihood Award Centre (UN-POLAC) has appointed the General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Apostle Lawrence Achudume as International Peace Advocate in line with the United Nations General Assembly Declaration
Penpushing reports that, in a letter of appointment dated September 29, 2020, the centre said the trustees recognizes the exemplify qualities in the cleric, who is also a stakeholder on Penpushing media hence, the decision to appoint him with benefits which include: certificate of appointment, international identity card, investiture apparel, flag of authority to be hoisted at any place of his choice and special vehicle plate number in collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)
The letter signed by Director General of the autonomous institution, Prof Halo Eton added that, the prestigious investiture will take place on December 10,2020 at Nigerian National Merit Award House, Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory(FCT)
Penpushing further reports that, the letter explained that, the body was established in 2001 with the United Nations and UNESCO following General Assembly Resolution declaring 2001-2010 as a decade of peace and non-violence
The Director General added that the mandate of the organization is to enhance the effectiveness of the United Nations(UN) Sustainable Development Goals and UNESCO Culture of peace project, particularly the maintenance of peace and security and the restoration of human dignity/
‘In line with the UN General Assembly’s declaration, POLAC collaborates with UNESCO to commemorate the Human Right Day with the theme, Stand Uo for Human Rights. This day therefore provide individuals a share date to reiterate the fact that Global Peace is a collective responsibility’, the letter reads
‘As part of the event for the celebration, there will be appointment/presentation of certificates and awards International Peace Advocates to individuals to proven integrity who exhibit the ideals of living for the sake of others and commit themselves to promoting universal moral values, strong family life, social harmony, inter-religious and ethnic cooperation and the culture of peace’
‘In addition to acknowledging these special qualities,, the appointment encourages thses individuals to be role models in community services and peacemaking. In view of the foregoing, the trustees of POLAC recognize that you exemplify these qualities and wish to convey you their decision to appoint you as International Peace Advocate’, the letter emphasised
