Inaccurate data causes delay in payment of ad-hoc staff, says Oyo State Electoral Commission

The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) on Tuesday debunked rumor circulating around that the commissions still owing some ad-hoc staff engaged in the just concluded local government elections in the state, saying that inaccurate data supplied by some of the staff caused delay in their payment.

Penpushing reports that the commission  chairman, Aare Isiaka Olagunju  stated that the commission is on the verge of paying the allowances of the ad-hoc staff ,adding that their payment schedule has been sent to designated banks for further actions.

The electoral boss  who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria(SAN) noted that the commission had emergency engagements in terms of personnel on election day, which made it difficult for account department to rely largely on master list for the payment .

“There are cases of wrong account details provided by prospective beneficiaries, names, phone numbers,  even numbers of personnel exceeding what we suppose to have . So , we have to scrutinize the data for excellent output

“We are not going to owe any of our ad-hoc staff as payment is continuum. We have done our part, very soon, those who are yet to receive their allowance, will be credited by the finance institution”,Olagunju assured
