Tunde Lemo aligns with All Progressives Congress choice of Yayi as governorship flagbearer in 2027

The Governorship aspirant of All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr Tunde Lemo aligned with position of the party leadership on the choice of Senator Solomon Adeola as the governorship candidate of the party in Ogun State

Penpushing reports that Lemo made this known in a statement and called on party members and other stakeholders to trust the judgement of the leadership and rally support for the candidate

The former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), explained that the decision followed deep reflection and wide consultations with party leaders and stakeholders, emphasizing that the move was made in the interest of unity and progress within the party

Penpushing further reports that, Lemo describing the step as a strategic alignment rather than a withdrawal from public service, expressed confidence in the party leadership’s choice of Adeola, as the consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.

The frontline member of Penpushing platform pointed out that party leaders and elders believe Adeola possesses the capacity to consolidate the achievements of the current administration and accelerate Ogun State’s emergence as Nigeria’s industrial and innovation hub.

Penpushing also reports that he stated that the consensus decision is equally expected to strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC’s) chances by fostering unity across the state’s three senatorial zones.

The banking guru turned politician lamented that internal divisions had previously hindered the progress of the party, stressing the need for cohesion ahead of the elections.

“This is not a retreat from service. It is a deliberate, strategic alignment for the greater good. For too long, fragmentation has cost progressives’ momentum. We must close ranks. Leaders must lead by example, not by insisting on self, but by enabling strength,” he said.

Penpushing reports that he called on his supporters and political structures across the 20 local government areas of the state to fully support Adeola’s campaign without reservation, and reaffirmed his commitment to the party and to the development of Ogun State.

The former aspirant pledged to deploy his expertise in finance, enterprise, and public policy to ensure the party’s victory and effective governance and equally expressed gratitude to the party leadership at both national and state levels, as well as to traditional rulers and the people of Ogun State, for their confidence and support.

Penpushing further reports that Lemo emphasized that the contest ahead is not about individuals, rather It is about Ogun state future, hence need for to be on the right side of history, united, focused, and victorious.
