I am a widow with focus to train my children, says ‘Iya Ita’ popular food seller at press centre

A petty trader and mother of four boys, Madam Janet has disclosed that she is a widow with determined focus to make ends meet for her family, following the death of her husband some years ago.

Penpushing reports that, the woman who sells cooked rice with soup at Press Centre, Iwe-Iroyin House located at Oke-Ilewo area of Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital made this known in an exclusive interview.

The widow a popular face in Abeokuta and called “Iya-Ita” by her teeming customers said following the demise of her husband, which weigh her down, she had to take over the responsibility to take care of her four boys, hence, her resolve to start petty trading

Penpushing further reports that the known industrious woman said she had been in petty trading over two decades ago, adding that selling of cooked rice, lifted her to limelight, adding that she has since been using the proceeds to train her children.

The widow called on mothers to always strive hard to make ends meet for the future of their children stressing that, women should not depend on their husbands for everything to keep welfare of home.

Penpushing also reports that, the  Abeokuta indigene widow expressed appreciation to God, who she said had being a source of strength for her for the home front, to fend, feed and trained his four boys

The woman disclosed that after her primary and secondary education at Baptist Girls High School, Idi Aba , Abeokuta, she later learnt an handiwork which is goldsmith, adding later in life she embarked on petty trading which has been her source of keeping body and soul till date .

“I did a lot of jobs just to survive,  I never for once sat down for once to feel pity for myself as a widow . I also sold alcohols, before deciding to be a food seller. I faced a lot of challenges selling food, but according to the words of God, which says those that trust in Him, will not be shamed “, she said
