Eid-Kabir: Odua Peoples Congress urges Ibarapa residents to be security conscious at praying ground

The Oyo State chapter of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) on Monday urged people in Ibarapa axis of the state to be security conscious while celebrating Eid-Kabir to curb activities of suspected Fulanis herdsmen that might want to attack the town.

Penpushing reports that this was contained in a statement by the state coordinator of the congress, Comrade Rotimi Oluomo, which was made available to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC)  leader, however, assured that  adequate measures had been put in place by his men, stressing need by Muslim faithful to be watchful and observant while on praying ground during the celebration.

Penpushing further reports, it is recalled that,Oluomo raised alarm last week over plans by suspected Fulani herdsmen and bandits to attack some part of Ibarapa region of the state during Eld-Kabir celebrations.

The Congress Coordinator, however condemned what happened on Friday between the Nigeria customs and smugglers in Ibarapa land where three lives were lost, adding that the National leader of the congress, Otunba Gani Adams has directed him to deployed  members to each praying ground in the town
