EDUCATION STAKEHOLDERS LAUD CHRIST EMBASSY CHURCH ON NATION BUILDING
The Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Mrs. Mojisola Dosunmu, speaking at the Christ Embassy Reach Out Nigeria, Rhapsody of Realities Independence Debate Competition held at the Church Auditorium, at camp junction, Obantoko , Abeokuta ,said human capital development was very key for the sake of Nation building.
Penpushing further reports that, Dosunmu who was represented by the Director of Administration and Supply, Mrs Idowu Kehinde said the various challenges facing the country could be surmounted if the energy of youths is channeled towards productive activities, describing the debate as germane to Nation building.
The Permanent Secretary commended Christ Embassy, Abeokuta Ministry Center for advancing a course which would shape the spiritual and physical well-being of the country through the “Reach out Nigeria”, programme.
Penpushing also reports that, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Olu-Ola Aikulola, represented by Mr. Olatunji Yussuf in his remarks appreciated the organisers for their contribution to nation building, adding that Nigerians craved for positive change that begins with individual.
Penpushing reports that, on his part, the Director of Information, TESCOM, Mr Kehinde Onasanya described the reach out Nigeria programme, organised by Christ Embassy as bold step to restore the nation to the path of righteousness, describing the rhapsody of realities as a solution to societal ills and redemption of mankind.
The Senior Director of Information in the State said leadership was a function of followership, pointing out that Nigerians must imbibe the ” Change begins with me ” matra to evolve doing things in a business unusual manner.
The Minister in charge of Christ Embassy, Abeokuta Ministry Center, Pastor T.T Edun who also doubled as the Chairman of the occasion, while proffering solution to some of the problems facing the nation, emphasised the need to invest more on human capital, rather than building physical structures, saying that failure to build the minds of the youths would lead to destruction of structures built with massive efforts and capital.
“We must not lose sight of the fact that, human capital building is of great essence because, if there is no competent human mind, the quality of service from physical structure is determined by the quality of human capital operating it”,Edun emphasised .
The cleric said the major roles of the Church was to bring a change to the society through transformation of minds and advancement of the gospel of Christ through rhapsody of realities being distributed in different languages across the globe
Penpushing further reports that, competition was organised for youths within the age brackets of (15 -35) with the topic “What will i do if i am elected the President of Nigeria” , while the event also witnessed the presentation of trophy and cash prizes to the winner of the debate competition with the first and second runners up receiving cash prizes while other participants also got consolation cash prizes.
