Apostle Achudume mourns Sunday Mbang

The General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC) Apostle Lawrence Achudume has mourned Prelate Emeritus of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Dr.Sunday Mbang who died on Tuesday, May 16, 2023

Penpushing reports that Achudume who was with him few days before the demise described Mbang as an exemplary religious leader whose legacies of commitment to peaceful co-existence, religious harmony, and oneness will continue to be a point of reference.

The cleric while extolling the virtues of the late first black President of the World Methodist Council who was also a former President of the Christian Association Of Nigeria, CAN pointed out that he was an embodiment of simplicity, rendered selfless service to humanity and was tolerant to all, especially during the military era when he had several confrontations with the government at that time.

Penpushing further reports that Achudume observed that Mbang’s kind is rare, noting that he was a detribalised Nigerian who put the military regimes of late General Sanni Abacha and General Abdulsalami Abubakar on their toes until the civilian administration was ushered in.

‘No two person like Dr  Sunday Mbang ,he was a  true Nigerian, he was not ethnic bias, a fighter for justice, he kept the then military regime of Abacha on his toes even Abdulsalami until they handed power to a civilian regime’, he added.

Penpushing also reports that Achudume who is equally known to be a frankly speaking and fearless clergyman said Mbang before his death  bared his mind on  many issues bordering on governance in the country and waited for the general elections to be over before taking a bow from this world.

‘The man told me a lot about Nigeria, he waited for election to be over before departing, he prayed to witness the election and he did, he died in peace”, Achudume emphasized in a statement of condolence.
