Iyalode Alaba Lawson storms Olubadan Palace with women to pay homage to monarch

The Iyalode of Yorubaland, Iyalode Alaba Lawson on Sunday in company of women in South West of Nigeria stormed the palace of Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Lekan Balogun to pay homage to the newly inaugurated monarch in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.

Penpushing reports that Lawson’s convoy arrived the palace at about 1.30pm and majestically ushered in by Oloye Lekan Alabi, an Ibadan High Chief, and other palace officials into the hands of the traditional ruler and his Queen, who joyfully welcomed the team, which comprises female title chief holders, female professionals and other female associations among others.

The entourage of Iyalode stunned the monarch, who affirmed that, it was glaring that she’s truly the women leader and great mobilizer, who no doubt is cautious of the welfare of the womenfolk, and expressed appreciation to the team.

Penpushing further reports that,  as part of culture, Lawson presented various gift items to the palace, and also took time to present her biography to the traditional ruler, just as she prayed for long reign for him, expressing optimism that the new Olubadan reign will also bring peace to Yorubaland.

The women who dressed in white attire with headgear to match took time to eulogize and sang various melody tunes for the royal father to appreciate him, which also attracted the entire four walls of the palace, as well as the neighborhood, with number of them eager to witness the memorable visit.

Penpushing also reports that, Lawson assured the monarch of another round of courtesy call, which will be more elaborate and fill with full and bountiful of funfare, calling on traditional rulers across the Yorubaland on need in ensuring revival of culture and traditions, which seems to be going into extinction

The High Chief of Ibadanland,  Lekan Alabi in his remarks described Lawson as a woman of substance and goal getter, who by all standard, the competent women leader in the South-West, and always exhibit quality in what she wants to do, as well as show passion for women development.

Penpushing reports that Alabi, pointed out that the Iyalode-led courtesy was unique and relevant in Ibadan, which shall be a reference point in culture, tradition and Yorubaland as a whole
