2023 Poll: Decamp to Labour Party to join forces with Obi in your own interest, Adebanjo tells Tinubu

The Acting National Leader of Afenifere, Yoruba Socio-Cultural Group, Chief Ayo Adebanjo has  advised the Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), Bola Tinubu  to decamp to the Labour Party(LP) in his own interest, if he still want to be relevant in politics as the country prepares for next political dispensation

Penpushing reports that Adebanjo gave the advice on Saturday while speaking at the Presidential campaign rally of Labour Party (LP) Candidate, Peter Obi held at the Alake Palace ground in Abeokuta, boasting that the Labour Party (LP) will take over leadership of the country in the forthcoming elections.

The Afenifere boss declared that contrary to Tinubu’s claim that it is his turn as a Yoruba man to become next President, said, that was a wrong impression coming from him, stressing that the Yoruba had their slot of President under the rule of Olusegun Obasanjo

Penpushing further reports that Adebanjo said in the same vein,  Dr Goodluck Jonathan had the share of the South-South as President and   Muhammadu Buhari enjoyed the slot of the North-West, as the outgoing President, arguing that the Presidency should now go to the South-East which Peter Obi represents.

The group chieftain  said Yoruba should not be seen as been greedy in sharing formula of the Presidency, and said Tinubu should rather join forces with the South-East under Obi, to work towards the success of the Labour Party (LP) in ruling the country in the next dispensation

“Obasanjo ruled as a Yoruba man from the South and then Yar adua from the North. When it was the turn of the South, it was Jonathan and then it went to the North and we had Buhari. Is it right for it to come to the South and a Yoruba will say it is my turn”, he emphasized

Penpushing also reports that Adebanjo declared that it was not too late for Tinubu to retrace his step on his ambition to become the next President, pointing out that the assumed support he is receiving from the Northerners was nothing but fake loyalty.

The leader of the Yoruba Socio-Cultural Group emphasized that Tinubu should pull wool on his face and come to reality that, those assumed to be supporting him from the North, had hidden agenda to ensure he fail on the presidential ambition

Penpushing reports that in his speech while addressing the party supporters and crowd at the rally, Presidential Candidate of Labour Party (LP) called on Nigerians, particularly the electorate to join hands with him in building new Nigeria.

The former Governor who is now eyeing the Presidency boasted that among other presidential candidates, he remained the most qualified and competent,  to rule the country effectively and take it to the next positive level.

‘I am a proud Nigerian, I am contesting because among all of us I am the most qualified and competent. Help us build a new Nigeria. It is time for the youth to take over Nigeria. There will be a change of good change if I am elected as next President’, he emphasized

Penpushing further reports that he called on electorate to take money of the opposition parties, if they offer them money, and thereafter vote for the Labour Party(LP) in the forthcoming general elections, adding that the money being spent by the opposition is money which belong to all Nigerians.
