WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DELAY IN PAYMENT OF STUDENTS ALLOWANCE, SAYS INDUSTRIAL TRAINING BOSS

The Area Manager explained that the delay and some irregularities of payment of the stipend experience by students are mostly cause by either the student themselves or by their respective institutions, adding that students might even receive their money before leaving the school if they followed due process.

Her words ‘ many students has problem concerning collection of their money and in most cases, by the time the money is ready for collection, most of them would have graduated from their respective institutions due to delay and some irregularities”.

Penpushing further reports that, she pointed out that one of the challenges the fund  is having was that most students do not pay enough attention to listen to necessary information when  officials go to their institutions to give them orientation on how to go about the industrial  training and follow due process.

“Some of the students will come with their log book three months after they had finished their training. Meanwhile this log book supposed to have been submitted immediately after the training, most of them will submit their parents account details which made it difficult for us to do the transactions”.

Penpushing also reports that, Olorunleke reiterated further that institutions also attimes delayed the payment of the students by not sending the details of their students to Industrial Training office on time for processing, adding that this hindered the quick process of the transaction.

“Before, we have payment system whereby students are paid through their employers, but when we noticed that the system was faulty, we now decided to be making the payment through the institutions which we later considered as the most problematic because these institutions attimes deliberately delayed the student payment”.

The organization boss noted that the e-payment introduced by the Federal Government  in 2009 has resolved all the payment issue because students are now been paid directly into their bank accounts.

“All the payments are now been made directly into students bank accounts, if all students details is sent to ITF on time by the school authorities, this money will be paid even before the student graduated from school”.

Penpushing further reports that, she however urged students to ensure that their account details are correct because failure to do this can lead to delay in their payment.
