I have always been beneficiary of media, says Frank Mba
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, and Frank Mba has disclosed that he has always been a beneficiary of good media, with assurance that he would continue to ensure that the synergy continued to grow.
Penpushing reports that Mba, who assumed duty as the police boss few weeks ago, made this confession while hosting journalists in the state at the Police Officers Mess located in Government Reservation Area (GRA), Abeokuta
‘I understand the role you play because I monitor the news. You have done well since I resumed duty here. In my career so far I have enjoyed favour from the media, as a person I have my mistakes but with media I have favour and grace’, he emphasised.
Penpushing further reports that the former Force Public Relations Officer acknowledged the synergy between the media and the police, admitting that since his arrival in the state he has enjoyed the same gestures from media.
The Commissioner appealed to the media practitioners to support his stay in joint efforts to fight crimes and criminals, just as he commended journalists for coverage and synergy displayed with the police and other law enforcement agencies during the Presidential and the National Assembly elections
“I am asking now that I am here, since I have enjoyed favour with you in Lagos, Abuja and now that I am here, I seek for your support. Concerning training for journalists in the area of security. We did something like that in Abuja. We will look at it and the cost implications. After that we will see whether or not it could be done”, he added
Penpushing also reports that Mba who was flanked at the ceremony by Deputy Commissioners in charge of operations, Sani Saliu and State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Babakura Mohammed, as well as Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in attendance, on the forthcoming Governorship and Assembly elections slated for March 11, 2023 called for effective coverage
