Sex Scandal: Child Protection Network supports suspension of alleged commissioner

The Child Protection Network (CPN),Ogun State Chapter has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for his swift reaction in suspending the Commissioner for Environment, Hon Abiodun Abudu-Balogun over alleged sex scandal involving him and a 16 year old student.

Penpushing reports that, the Network Coordinator Akingbade Alfred said the step of the Governor on the issue, showed that the government has demonstrated to the people that of a truth and  frowned at violation of women and children, not only on paper but also in action.

‘Child protection Network Ogun has commended the action of the state government to have suspended the Commissioner for Environment Honourable Abiodun Abudu Balogun who was accused of sexual harassment by a 16 year old SS3  child’, the statement reads.

‘With this development, the government has demonstrated to the people that of a truth and frowned at violation of women and children, not only on paper but also in action’, Akingbade wrote.

Penpushing further reports that, the Child Protection Network (CPN) in the statement pointed out that, with this singular act, survivors and every other people will know that the government meant well for its citizens.

The network, however, appealed to the government to allow the police conduct a detailed investigation of the matter, as way to allow the law take its full course, if the commissioner is found wanting

‘With this singular act, survivors and every other person will know that this is indeed the government of the people by the people. However, the network is appealing to the state government to allow the Police do a detailed investigation of the matter and allow the law take it’s full effect’, Akingbade wrote.
