OYO PENSIONERS ASK GOVERNOR MAKINDE TO DECLARE STATE OF EMERGENCY ON PENSION SCHEME

The Pensioners noted that the declaration is necessary because Oyo State is filled with intellectual people who must not be deprived of their entitlements at the appropriate time,while in his remark the union secretary, Olusegun Abatan, regretted that May, 2018 pension was the one that the Governor signed its payment some days ago.

Penpushing further reports that, the scribe noted that, over 17 months are still unpaid, and appealed to the Governor to take a pro-active step and address the non-challance of the past administration as regards payment of pension in percentages to retired primary school teachers and local government pensioners.

 The Governor, while addressing the pensioners noted that his administration is ready and able to tackle challenges affecting workers and pensioners in Oyo State, adding that his government will do the needful to alleviate the suffering of workers and pensioner’s in the state.

‘We shall pay all the workers and pensioners and their salary gratuity respectively as at when due, you voted us into power, and we shall always consult you as we make progress”,Goverrnor  Makinde gave assurance

The Governor noted that N4.5 billion was the allocation coming from the Federal Government to the Oyo State Government, adding that N5.5 billion is the salary of the State workers, and N2billion is the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State Government, while 20% of the Internally Generated Revenue ( IGR) goes to the consultant that was hired by the previous administration to collect the revenue.

“All our activities are open to all since we came in, don’t think that I am a perfect person as a Governor, whatever advice you have for us, pass it across to us and we shall listen to it, we are open to all of you to participate in this government, just remain calm with us and you shall see the difference within the shortest period of time”,he said
