Monkey attacks pupil in Anambra state

A monkey said to escape from its cage has attacked a girl on her way to school  in Anambra State, but as at the time of filing this report, the victim had been treated in the hospital after the bite.

Penpushing reports that, the founder of the Centre for Psychic and Healing Administration in the State, Flora Ilonzo, said the authority was cleaning the monkey’s cage on Wednesday morning, when it ran out and bit the girl child

“We were cleaning the monkey’s cage on Wednesday morning, unfortunately for us the monkey ran out and bit a girl child that was going to school. Her father came to my compound to ask me for the name of the injection to be used for his daughter’s treatment’.

“She was taken to Assumpta Hospital and the Doctor asked him to come to me so that I will tell him the name of the injection to be used. The child has been discharged from the hospital. All I pray is for the girl to be healed”, Ilonzo said

Penpushing further reports that, a Doctor at the Assumpta hospital, who preferred anonymity confirmed the child has been treated and discharged from the hospital, while in similar vein, founder of the Centre for Psychic and Healing Administration denied media reports the animal involved was a baboon.

The Anambra State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Haruna Muhammed,  when contacted said the command would work with other government agencies to ensure that the animals at the centre are securely kept, to prevent a repeat of the incident.
