Lockdown: Crisis looms in All Progressives Congress over palliatives for members

The members of the All Progressives Congress(APC),Ogun State Chapter may be heading  for a showdown over the proposed cash  palliatives for them across all wards in the State, as investigation showed that, accusation rifes over  manner of compilation of authentic beneficiaries.

Penpushing reports that, the party members have been penciled down for the gestures, with arrangement that, each  of the 236 wards  should forward list of 200 members, who are expected to get the sum of N2,500 each.

The looming crisis over the sum calculated to amount  of  N118million has been traced to allegations that, some suspected leaders of the party, have started to include fictious names in the list,as an avenue in  siphoning the money, at the expense of the authentic members

Penpushing further reports that, a notable chieftain of the party (nameswitheld) has been allegedly fingered as the arrow head of the shady deal, a development said to be causing bad blood among party members.

The investigation also revealed that, some of the members who suspected that, they may be eased out of the arrangements have started to raise alarm internally, threatening that; they would not allow the alleged plot to see the light of the day.

Penpushing also reports that, the Secretary of the party in the State, Ayo Olubori when contacted said, he was not in the know of such arrangements, explaining that, nobody has contacted the party leadership for such palliatives.

‘Well, I don’t know the true story, am not aware of any chieftains of the party saddled with that responsibilities. The state executive officers remain the only platform through which you can reach out to members of the party’,  Olubori said.

‘For instance, you can reach students of secondary through the Principal, and not through a staff of Ministry of Education. The Principal is the custodian of the school and registered students in that school. If this is true and logical, then I do not have any comment on it. I reserved my comments’, the party scribe emphasied
