Nigerian Government honours Journalism Icon Segun Osoba as Commander of Federal Republic

The former Governor of Ogun State and journalism icon, Chief Olusegun Osoba has been conferred national honour of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) on Sunday, May 28, 2023, as approved by President Muhamadu Buhari

Penpushing reports that a publication by the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs announced the award with Osoba’s name boldly written on number 20 of the list of the Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) of the awardees

‘The President and Commander-in Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) has approved the award of National Honours to the following Nigerians and Friends of Nigeria in various Categories’, the announcement reads

Penpushing further reports that other awardees include former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Emeka Anyaoku, who received Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), whie former Governor of Osun State Chiief Bisi Akande was also bestowed with award of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR)

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun also bagged award of Commander of the Order of Niger(CON), with his name sighted on number 54 of the list, as well as former Governor of Osun State Adegboyega Oyetola and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State

Penpushing also reports that the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele, was not left out of the award, as well as Mamman Daura who bagged awards of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR), while the Olowu of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Oyelude Makama, Tegbosun III, was also conferred with the Commander of the Order of Niger (CON) for his support for the Nigerian military.
