GOVERNOR ABIODUN DROPS TOGA OF ‘ALAKOWE’ POLITICS EMBARKS ON AGGRESSIVE GRASSROOT POLITICS

The signal to this new Abiodun’s determination to dutifully take over Ogun politics has started manifesting in recent time according to Penpushing investigation and this are now obvious in many of his political outings and functions.

Penpushing reports that, a typical example was during the crossover of chieftains and members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) held at Ake in Abeokuta, the State Capital.

The Governor who led  political songs came out in his full political regalia, sounding authoritative that, there is only one genuine party in the State, which he declared as the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), stating that any other party is counterfeit.

Penpushing also reports that, Abiodun did not stop there, as he engaged in series of political dance steps, to influence further support for him from the electorate, contrary to insinuations that, he is not a good dancer in the political world.

The Governor, while further affirming his leadership in Ogun politics, warned those members who are returning to the party, after a lift of suspension on them, that they have to go to their wards for registration before they could be fully re-admitted

‘We won’t allow back door entry, you cannot enter through the back door, you cannot enter through the window. We are one, no faction. Let us embark on regular meetings from our wards. Politics has started’,Abiodun declared.

The Governor declared that All Progressives Congress APC, remained the only existing party in the state, boasting that any other party is counterfeit, stressing that the happenings in the state are attestation to that.

‘There is no any other party in Ogun State, the atmosphere in the state is attestation to this. We are joining hands to build the future of our state together. We must appreciate each other. We have lots of positions to give sense of belongings to all. Any other party in Ogun State is counterfeit, and it is obvious’,Abiodun said.

The Governor called on members not to discriminate against new members, stressing that he does not want to hear of any discrimination, rather everybody should be accommodated, assuring that nobody will be left out

‘There are no new entrants; I don’t want to hear any discrimination. We must appreciate each other. We have lots of positions to give out and give sense of belongings. We are joining hands to build the future of Ogun State together’.

Penpushing reports that the Governor in similar vein, at the inauguration of local government chairmen and members of the local government councils transition committees, declared that politics had started and called on them to be relevant at the local government governance level.

The Governor speaking at June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, with a large turnout of members of the All Progressives Congress,( APC), across all the wards and local government areas, which also include chieftains and new intakes of the party gave assurance that his administration would end the trust deficit being witnessed between the government and the people at the grassroot level.

Penpushing further reports that, Abiodun noted that the government would do all within its reach to bring development to the people at the grassroot and called on the chairmen and members to be worthy ambassadors of government and be responsible to the people, as well as study the people’s needs and report back to the government in the scheme of things.

The Governor also at the swearing in ceremony of the new Commissioners, in his speech said their  selection and subsequent appointment, was  been presented with a rare opportunity to lead and serve the people who expect so much from them  in terms of performance.

‘Their aspirations, their desires for growth and prosperity are hinged on your success. The dividends of democracy should not be elusive, your actions and performance should help our State to blossom, grow well and our people to thrive’, he told the commissioners.

Penpushing reports that, Abiodun said the appointment is a call to service, and through their dedication, time and energy their character will be appreciated and esteemed, stressing that, ’you have been designated because you are qualified and possess the right experience to make a positive difference in our dear State’.

‘Today, I want to challenge you to see leadership as the opportunity to improve the lives and conditions of those who need it most. This is the ideal that motivates our administration and why we have employed the services of professionals, experienced individuals who share the same vision and passion for the development of Ogun State’.

‘This is a deliberate strategy for us to harness the creative abilities and energies of those who can deliver on the “Building our Future Together” Agenda. Let me also say that your appointment comes at a very important period in the history of our dear State’, he emphasised.

‘Some have insinuated the appointment of members of the State Executive Council is late. Nevertheless, to procure the very best, that is, game-changers who believe in our all-hands-on-deck-approach, team players who will make an impact, one must consult widely’,Abiodun emphasised.

Penpushing reports that, the Governor is on his first term in office which is eight months old, as at the time of this report, however, political sources informed that, ongoing development may be in preparation for the Governor’s second term, coupled with the recent decamping of members of the two opposition parties  in the State, said to be to the advantage of Abiodun
