Foundation calls on Buhari to engage local security in addressing insecurity in Nigeria

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Funmi Ayinke Humanity Foundation has called on Nigerian Government to engage more of the locals to tackle criminals and criminality in various communities across the country in view of the incessant illegal activities of bandits.

Penpushing reports that, the Managing Director of the establishment, Mrs Funmi Waheed – Adekojo made the call and appeal during interview with journalists at her office in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.

The Chief Executive Officer of the organization lamented that the insecurity in Nigeria has become worrisome, emphasizing the need and importance for all hands to be on deck to jointly address the menace

“Following the continuous attacks on schools in parts of the country, that has led to the abduction of school children, I will advise government at all levels to engage the services of locals, whose responsibility will be to give useful and timely information to security agencies’

“Nigeria’s insecurity is worrisome, hence the need for everyone to come together to collectively solve the problem. If the locals are engaged, it will help solve her security challenges”, she stated

Penpushing further reports that, the renowned mechanical engineer pointed out that failure of leaders to appoint experts into rightful positions have been the major bane in Nigeria’s wheel of progress and development.

The educationist emphasised that it is high time the leadership of the country do away with sentiment in making appointment, and equally advised President Muhammed Buhari to ignore advice from dubious godfathers

“What I will tell Baba (Buhari) is that, it is high time we stopped sentiment in making appointment. The President should stop taking advice from godfathers; instead he should set up a committee of experts who understand his vision for the country.

‘Those committee members in turn will look for the right person to head each ministry. The President must know this because if you appoint the wrong person, the blame comes back to you. That’s why we need to stop sentiment in making appointments”

Penpushing also reports that, Waheed – Adekojo however, expressed optimism that Nigeria would not break, adding that, she has always told people that the country will survive turbulent period its passing through now.

“Nigeria will not break up by the special grace of God. I have always told people that. This country will be great again. But Baba should please, all these people that are selfish, he should let them go, and bring people that want to build name not money’, she said.

Meanwhile, the known philanthropist had through her organisation  paid for 10,000 students tuition fees, also caters for the vulnerable in the community, and pledged that she would not relent in making life better for the less privileged in the society.
