Lekki killings: Judicial Panel recovers bullet shells at protest ground, as exhibits

The Judicial Panel set up by the Lagos State Government   to investigate police abuses and the shooting at the Lekki toll gate, has recovered bullet shells from the scene on Friday, precisely ten days after the sad incident.

Penpushing reports that, the panel led by Dorris Okuwobi during an inspection visit to the scene in company of journalists and representative of the Lekki Concession Company recovered the bullet shells

The six shell recovered from the scene of the shooting on the peaceful protesting youths against police brutality embarked on by the Nigerian Army would be expected to serve as critical evidence to establishing the truth.

Penpushing further reports that, the representatives, Abayomi Omoruwa and Gbolahan Agboluaje, had earlier appeared before the judicial panel on Friday to present the CCTV footage recovered following the shooting, but the panel did not receive the CCTV footage., explaining that the main assignment for the Friday was to visit the incident site.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army, earlier accused of carrying out the alleged killings of the youths, had denied knowledge about the shooting and killings, but later admitted that soldiers were there on the invitation of the state government, but insists they shot no one, despite video evidence showing otherwise, while Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his part said  he knew nothing about presence of soldiers at the venue of the protests.
