The police spokesperson who is an Assistant Superintendent of Police disclosed that items recovered from him suspected to have been stolen from the victims of the ex-convict include one walkie-talkie, phones, a brown coverall, RCC ID Card

Penpushing further reports that record has it that this is the second time in less than two weeks that suspects dressed in military uniforms have been arrested in the state, while it is recalled that late last month four suspected kidnappers dressed in military uniform were arrested in Uyo, with two of their victims rescued.

The police command explained that the suspects were arrested while trying to kidnap a friend of one of their victims they earlier kidnapped but could not raise the N5 million ransom they demanded after the crime.

Penpushing also reports that the Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara, has, however, reiterated the command’s commitment to rid the state of criminals, and equally thanked the public for their support, and urged residents to furnish the police with information that is needed to track criminals in the state.
