ENGAGE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST PEOPLE PLANNING TO OBSTRUCT PEACE, AJIMOBI TELLS INCOMING SUCCESSOR

The Governor said security is the foundation of any government and as such is the basis for good governance, adding that his government is leaving behind a peaceful State and hopes that the incoming government will not lose guards on security matters.

“Don’t take us back to Egypt, you must continue to see that peace and tranquility reign in the State even after I am  gone” he said, and  pointed out that some hoodlums and criminals might want to raise their heads against the already existing peace of the State after he leaves office.

Penpushing further reports that, in the same vein, the President of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP), Nathaniel Danjibo stated that government must ensure proper development in order to attain peace in the state.

 ‘Peace and development work hand in hand, where without the former, the latter will not be attainable and that the government has a fundamental responsibility to keep development afloat in order to maintain peace in the society.

“Considering millions of young Nigerians who are unemployed, the academia said societal development in terms of youth empowerment can eradicate the insecurities in the Country.

The Society President however suggested that job creation is a major way of shifting the attention of young people from crimes, stressing, “give young people jobs, bring about development in the society and crime will reduced to its barest minimum” he said.
