NO VACANCY FOR CRIMINALS TO OPERATE IN OGUN, SAYS POLICE COMMISSIONER

The police boss, also commended the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) for their cooperation with police, saying that the community policing has stopped crisis in the State,  adding  that the community policing has also yielded positive result.

Penpushing further reports that, the commissioner stressed that the community policing is the best policing strategy, and stated, “we have to thank the Presidential directives on community policing as directed by the Inspector-General of Police on robust engagement with communities.

“We have to work with communities in line with the best international practices, that is community engagement, zero tolerance to corruption as well as policing with integrity. On community engagement, we have so far achieved in Ogun State. We have engaged all unions, professional bodies, traditional and the students unions’ said.

The Police boss also added, “We are using community policing to douse many crisis and challenges in Ogun state. We have new innovation and that is called strategic engagement. PCRC has come to stay in Ogun. We enjoyed the robust relationship between the PCRC and Police in Ogun state,

“We are going to remain committed, we are going to remain resolute in our fight against criminality, with the people and the communities’ cooperation in the state will remain safe. It (state) is now attracting investment and industry.”

Penpushing also reports that, the commissioner assured that the police would not be partisan and be apolitical as far as the next year’s election is concern, emphasizing that, “we shall be apolitical and non-partisan as far as 2019 election is concerned. I am calling on all stakeholders to emulate police to ensure a smooth transition of electoral process.”

 “We will not allow all forms of hooliganism; we will not allow anybody to breach the peace of this state. We will work hand in hand with everybody and appealing to everyone to warn their supporters that they should eschew rancour and bitterness.”
