Coronavirus: Redeemed Christian Church of God donates medical equipment to Ogun state government

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has donated some medical equipment which include; two units of ventilators; two Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds; two Infusion pumps; one Vital Signs Monitor as well as one Suctioning machine to Ogun State Government

Penpushing reports that, the equipment were handed over to the Deputy Governor of the State, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele at the church headquarters located along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the State.

The General Overseer of the church , Pastor Enoch  Adeboye while handing over the materials  said the gesture was part of the church’s contributions towards fighting the dreaded coronavirus pandemic in the state.

Penpushing further reports that, Assistant General Overseer (AGO) of the church in charge of Administration and Personnel, Pastor Johnson Odesola, who represented Adeboye, stated further that, the church  has been at the forefront of the efforts at managing the outbreak of Coronavirus through direct support to government.

The clergyman explained that the church in the last two weeks, distributed over 20, 000 bags of rice, packed in 1-kilogram and other food items to vulnerable citizens to help them cushion the effect of the lockdown on Nigerians

Penpushing also reports that, he said the donations were made irrespective of  tribes and religion, and   prayed that the crisis of Coronavirus will soon be over in the country to enable  every Nigerian in returning to their daily activities.

The Deputy Governor, Engr  Noimot Salako-Oyedele while receiving the medical equipment  expressed appreciation of State Government  to the leadership of the church for what she described as “wonderful support” towards curtailing the challenges of COVID-19 in Ogun.

Penpushing reports that, Salako-Oyedele stated that the equipment are most valuable, adding that donation of the medical equipment by RCCG has being a big boost to Ogun State Government “in our preparedness to be able to cope with the disease”.

“These are pieces of equipment you cannot get for money or gold these days because everybody across the world is looking for them. By this donation, RCCG has put us at a better advantage to be able to manage the pandemic”, she said.

The Deputy Governor praised the church authorities for deeming it fit to engage in feeding the poor and vulnerable residents of the state during the lockdown period without leaving the burden to the state government alone.

Her words, “This has also assisted in alleviating the effect of the lockdown on our people and ease the government load at this unprecedented time”.
