Abeokuta club elects Afolabi Soyode as new life president
The Abeokuta Club has elected award-winning former Vice-Chancellor of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Prof. Afolabi Soyode as its new Life President of the foremost Club in Nigeria.
Penpushing reports that Chairman, Publicity Committee Tunde Oluwasola made this known in a statement, explaining that before Soyode election as Life President, he also doubles as the Chairman Board of Trustees and Elders.
The statement added that he was a former President of the Club between 2011 and 2014 and also the acting Life President of the club after the demise of the erstwhile Life President of the Club, Chief Olatunde Abudu.
Penpushing further reports that Soyode is a Professor of Economics and distinguished Service Fellow of the University of Ibadan, and the Aare Olu-Omo of Egbaland and a Justice of the Peace and Jerusalem Pilgrim.
Meanwhile, the Life President of the club in his response to his election into the new office, pledged to work with all stakeholders of the club to move the great body forward in love, peace and progress.
