Osoba political family faults group’s claim of Osoba’s quietness on federal appointments
The Osoba political family has come in defence of former Governor Osoba over insinuations in some quarters that he has remain silent over the nominee of Ogun State in the newly constituted Board of the South West Development Commission.
Penpushing reports that a group claimed to be Osoba’s allies had earlier in a publication alleged that the members have been systematically excluded from key federal appointments and that the former Governor had kept quiet.
The group in the publication said two prominent associates of Osoba which include Segun Adesegun former commissioner for works and one time Deputy Governor Segun Adesegun and Durojaiye (former commissioner for finance have been sidelined in the appointments
Penpushing further reports that the faceless group argued that these long-standing party members deserve recognition ahead of recent defectors, who they claimed are being rewarded with primes appointments despite joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) just days before the general elections.
The Osoba political family led by Hon Kunle Adeyemi, however, faulted the claim of the group in reacting to a publication of Osoba being disquiet, over the nominee of Ogun State in the newly constituted Board of the South West Development Commission.
Penpushing reports that Adeyemi in a statement said the claim of the said group was nothing but an illusion that is borne out of the hallucinations of the pretenders who were signatories of the statement.
‘The attention of the elder-statesman and former governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba and his disciples in the State have been drawn to a publication in some traditional Media giving the impression of a purported ‘disquiet’ in the political family of the two-time governor over the nominee of Ogun State in the newly constituted Board of the South West Development Commission’, the statement reads.
Penpushing also reports that Adeyemi emphasized that the former governor and his genuine followers do not only support the Ogun State nominee on the Board, they believe, without reservation that the representative of the State on the Board will add value to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
‘The Osoba Political Family is also of the conviction that Mr. President has the discretion, following due consultations, to zeroing on nominees who will drive the appropriate aspirations for the betterment of the Nigerian nation’, Adeyemi wrote.
‘The political group, for example, called attention to the nomination of another indigene of the Gateway State on the Board of the South-South Development Commission to buttress its point submitting that the position of the President has always been known to be in pursuit of equity, fair play and justice in-line with his long cherished political trajectory’, the statement added
‘This is a principle that has, over the years, been associated with President Tinubu stressing that the Osoba Political Family remains aligned to the State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun over the nomination of the State for the Board’, it reads.
Penpushing reports that the former federal lawmaker in the statement appealed to the media to always do the due diligence by going extra miles over materials at its disposal with a view to ascertaining the authenticity of news items made available to them in order to smoke out name-droppers, impostors or impersonators.
‘For example, there’s no umbrella for Aremo Olusegun Osoba and his followers that is called ‘Osoba group’, explaining that the true and sincerely genuine followers of the former governor belong to the Osoba Political Family’, Adeyemi declared.
