Again, Amosun’s political godson, Adekunle Akinlade quits all progressives’ congress
A former Governorship Aspirant under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), Ogun State Chapter, Hon Adekunle Akinlade has resigned from the party, and remained silence on his next political move.
Penpushing reports that, in his letter of registration dated June, 29, 2022 and addressed to the Chairman of the party in the state, declared that his decision to quit the party became necessary following failure of the national leadership of the party to address the unresolved crisis within the party in the state.
“In fulfillment of Article 9, Sub-section 9.5 (i)(ii) of the APC Constitution that deals with cessation of membership, I hereby state that I do not have any item or property of the Party in my possession’, Akinalde wrote
“This decision became necessary because of the failure of the National Leadership of the Party to intervene fairly in the internal crisis rocking the Ogun State APC. As a principled and forthright individual, I cannot in good conscience continue to participate in a process that is devoid of justice”, he added
Penpushing further reports that, it is recalled that, Akinlade ally of former Governor Ibikunle Amosun, who during the build up to the 2019 governorship election, left the All Progressives Congress(APC) to contest the Ogun state governorship race under the platform of Allied People’s Movement(APM)
The former Governorship candidate remained with the party while his political godfather, Senator Ibikunle Amosun stayed glued with the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC),until recently towards the governorship primaries ahead of the 2023 general election, when he returned to the ruling party alongside his supporters
Penpushing also reports that, Akinlade before the Governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, raised alarm over plot by the leadership of the party to sideline him, and not provide level playing ground for him to contest
