Your 2023 political agenda is premature, All Progressives Congress tells Akinlade
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has advised the former Governorship Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Adekunle Akinlade to stop being impatient ahead of 2023 general elections
Penpushing reports that, the Publicity Secretary Caretaker Committee of the ruling party in the State, Tunde Oladunjoye gave the caution note to Akinlade, while featuring on Fireworks, a recorded programme on Television Continental, on Monday pointing out that, “it is too early to start discussing issues of 2023 agenda”
The ruling party described Akinlade who lost to the incumbent Governor, Dapo Abiodun in 2019, and later returned to All Progressives Congress (APC) as embarking on a pitiable political agenda.
Penpushing further reports that, Oladunjoye while responding to a question on the 2023 branded vehicles of Akinlade sighted in some parts of the state, emphaised, “It is pitiable for somebody who is not sure that he will wake up tomorrow to start thinking about 2023 and that’s the problem with do and die politics”,
“Some professionals have abandoned their profession for politics because they feel politics is the easiest way to make cheap money. As far as am concerned, people in politics should have a second address. Don’t put all your life on politics. How can someone sit down and be talking about 2023, are you sure you’re going to wake up tomorrow?”
Penpushing also reports that, Oladunjoye commended the Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the last general elections in the State, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, popularly known as GNI, for joining All Progressives Congress (APC) through a proper channel and unconditionally.
“GNI and many prominent politicians in Ogun State, including former Deputy Governor Salmot Badru, join e the APC and they were well received. Gboyega Isiaka is a fine gentleman, a first class brain; he has served and served well before. He along with other top politicians joined APC properly.”
The party spokesperson also admonished that politicians should put their faith in God who is in charge of today and future permutations, stressing that, ‘when we get to the bridge, we will cross it. Let God take control. Let’s play politics of togetherness, let’s play politics of progressiveness and leave God to take care of the future.”
