United Nations organizes media partners forum in Nigeria to enhance gender equality

The United Nations (UN) Women would hold a two-day media partner forum aimed to sustain partnership with the media and enhance gender-responsive media interventions to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment in Nigeria.

Penpushing reports that the forum which is one of the recommendations from the 2023 Media Conference is scheduled to hold between Wednesday, April 24 and 25 at the Conference Hall, First Floor, United Nations (UN) House Building, Plot 617/618 Diplomatic Drive, Central Business District, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

The forum will bring together United Nations (UN) Women Media Partners, who are working to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment in Nigeria to assess the extent of media’s effort since the last conference.

Penpushing further reports that the conference in same vein, review existing and proffer new strategies for improved media action for gender equality and women’s empowerment, especially in advancing women’s political participation.

The United Nations (UN) Women, organisers of the conference have assured and put in place all necessary logistics, with agenda made available to participants, adding that the program will start promptly at 8:00 am.
