Two Islamic teachers arrested for alleged defilement of 15 year old girl in Ogun state

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two Islamic Teachers, Ismaila Saheed(38) and Toliha Sabith (20)  for allegedly  defiling a 15 year old girl (name withheld) in Mowe area of Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.

Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer Abimbola Oyeyemi made this known on Monday adding that the suspects were apprehended following a report by the victim who reported at Redeemed Camp police station that Toliha Sabith forcefully had carnal knowledge of her on the 25th of August 2020 at Imedu_Nla area of Mowe.

The police spokesman said, the victim said she went to her Arabic and Islamic teacher to inform him, and having listened to her ordeal, the Arabic teacher Ismaila Saheed told her that she might have got pregnant as a result of the incident and he offered to help her remove the said pregnancy.

“But surprisingly, instead of removing the imaginary pregnancy, he took the advantage to also had carnal knowledge of her, after which he inserted a sharp object into her private part causing her a serious vaginal injury”, he said

“Upon the report, the DPO Redeemed Camp division, SP Bala Yakubu detailed his detectives to go after the two suspects and they were both apprehended on the 28th of August 2020. They have confessed to the commission of the crime. The victim is currently being admitted in an hospital for proper medical attention”, Oyeyemi said

Penpushing further reports that, the Commissioner of Police  Edward Ajogun has directed that the two suspects who he described as animals in human skin be transferred to Anti- Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner appealed to parents to always be concerned about the well being of their children especially the female ones so as not to make them an easy prey for those predators in human skin.
