The immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has disclosed that he dumped Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) because of breakdown of governance in his home base, Bauchi State to rejoin All Progressives Congress(APC), the party he had earlier left.
Penpushing reports that, Dogara who defected to the ruling party on Friday after his meeting with President Muhammed Buhari explained in a letter of registration addressed to the Bogoro ‘C’ Ward Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) dated July 24, 2020,he could not further stomach the alleged bad administration of Governor Bala Mohammed whom he said he helped install as a Governor in 2019.
The former speaker in the letter made available by his media aide,Turaki Hassan declared that he cannot successfully ask questions about those issues without being accused of disloyalty if he were to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Penpushing further reports that, Dogara argued that if he abdicates this responsibility of telling the truth to power in Bauchi State, having done same under the administrations of former Governors Isa Yuguda and Mohammed Abubakar, he will be the most irresponsible and unprincipled politician in Bauchi State.
The politician was elected speaker under the platform of All Progressives Congress(APC) in 2015, but later decamped, alongside dozens of other lawmakers, to the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the build-up to the 2019 general election.
Penpushing reports that Dogara won his re-election as a lawmaker under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP) but did not contest the speaker’s position as the All Progressives Congress(APC) won majority seats in the parliament.
