Traditional ruler of Saki town gets staff of office

The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has presented staff of office to the new traditional ruler of Saki town,Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Olabisi at a ceremony held at the palace of the monarch in Saki town of the State.

Penpushing reports that the royal on receipt of the staff of office pledged to use all his connections to attract investment into the town, upgrade the entrepreneurial to the people, and upgrade through mechanization, the traditional occupation – agriculture, blacksmithing, iron pot manufacturing – of the people.

The royal father expressed his profound appreciation to the Governor for allowing due process to prevail in the process that led to his selection as the new traditional ruler of the town, and also appreciated the kingmakers, as well as his subjects

Penpushing further reports that, the monarch, a University of Lagos trained Surveyor said, “my profound appreciation goes to His Excellency, Governor Seyin Makinde for encouraging and allowing due process to prevail in the selection exercise to the admiration of all and sundry in Saki and environs.”

“I also thank other people who contributed in one way or the other to the unhindered passages of all the relevant document and files across governmental departments for the swift approval of His Excellency, bringing about the historic event we are all here witnessing today.”

Penpushing also reports that he affirmed the support of the kingmakers who he said, “stood firmly by the truth, fairness and equity” as bequeathed on them by then forefathers of the town, assuring them that with their action and choice, the ancestors of the town are now
felicitating with them in their heavenly abodes.

“And, to those our mothers, fathers, elders, youth groups ,trade and professional associations, security agencies e.t.c, whose steadfastness with the sanctity of all the installation rites as laid down by our tradition resulting in the happenings of today, I say Awon Onile Saki, Ologun, Asabari a gbe yin o!

“I appreciate very deeply the numerous messages of goodwill sent through equally numerous channels by fellow royal fathers, Baales, Chiefs, the Clergy and several others; I take all as both challenge and motivation to strive harder in meeting the expectations of all by tactfully achieving constructive synergy between culture and modernity,” he added.
