Threat to withdraw chieftaincy title: Alaafin is exhibiting Alawada Baba Sala’s script, says Ooni’s media aide

The Director of Media and Public Affairs of Ife palace, Moses Olafare has declared that the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade asking Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi to withdraw conferment of the Okanlomo of Yorubaland title on businessman Dotun Sanusi, is empty threat, and Alawada Baba Sala drama episode

Penpushing reports that Olafare in a statement on his facebook page said Ooni has directed him not to response to the 48-hour ultimatum issued by the Alaafin over the chieftaincy conferment, adding that the matter will be allowed to be judge in the public space.

The Media Director explained that his principal considered the Alaafin’s warning unworthy of an official reply and had chosen to allow the matter to be judged in the public space rather than through press statements.

Penpushing further reports that Olafare stressed that attention should be directed towards issues capable of uniting the Yoruba people rather than those that might foster division.

“My Principal has directed me against issuing a Press Release on the Empty Threat of the Alawada Babasala.  I beg to disappoint you gentlemen of the press. We cannot dignify the undignifyable with an official response’, Olafare wrote.

‘We leave the matter to be handled in the public court of opinion as it is already being treated. Let’s rather focus on narratives that unite us rather than the ones capable of dividing us. No Press Release pls🙏🏻48 Hours My Foot!!!”, he added
