Suspected Fulani herdsmen have sacked Olokomeji village located in Odeda local government area of Ogun state, a neigbouring community of Ogun State Chief of Staff, Alhaji Shuaib Salisu, a notable politician in the area
Penpushing reports that, the suspects during the invasion allegedly killed a resident, and threatened to return to launch another round of attack; following the ugly development residents have deserted the community for safety.
The villagers were reported to have abandoned the known peaceful village and fled to Eruwa, Temidire communities and Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital to take refuge with their families, as the environment is no more considered safe for them
Penpushing further reports that, the affected community is about ten minutes drive to Orile Ilugun, the homestead of the Ogun State Chief of Staff, while the Chairman of ruling All Progressives Congress in the state, Yemi Sanusi is said to have come from the area.
The development also led to the closure of schools in the community, and as at the time of filing this report, there is no means for the pupils to continue their education, while their teachers now report at schools education authority office in Odeda.
Penpushing also reports that, it is recalled that the Head of Araromi community within the axis, and his wife were recently abducted by suspected herdsmen, but regained freedom after payment of N2million ransom
Meanwhile, other neighbouring communities with residents living under fear, following the attack include: Alade,Oguntolu and Olowo, while the residents are now calling Ogun State Government to come to their rescue
