Supreme Court dismisses All Progressives Congress review application on Balyesa Governorship election

The Supreme Court has dismissed an application filed by the All Progressive Congress (APC), asking it to reverse a judgment that sacked David Lyon as Governor-elect of Bayelsa State.

Penpushing reports that, a seven-member panel of the apex court, led by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta,in a unanimous judgment held that the application by Lyon and his party  lacks merit and the court lacks the jurisdiction to review its own judgment.

The judgment which was read by Justice Amina Augie, declared that, “No force on earth can force the court to change its decision”, and also  awarded the cost of N10 million each against the first, second and third applicants, to be paid to the first, second and third respondents, respectively.
