OYO POLICE COMMAND LAUNCHES OPERATION PUFF ADDER, PROMOTES 115 OFFICERS

The Commissioner ,pointed out that ‘the inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu has launched Operation Puff Adder with the aim of improving our intelligence gathering, aggressive motorized, foot patrols and response to distress calls to reasonably eliminate and reducing all criminal acts in our society, and for effectiveness down the ladder’

Penpushing further reports that, Olukolu added that, ‘the Inspector General of Police directed that the operation should be replicate in all the Zonal and State Police Command’, explaining that in compliance to the directive, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone Eleven Osogbo, which comprise of Ondo, Osun and Oyo,Adeleye Oyebade launched the outfit in Osogbo on 18th of April, 2019.

“There is high profile of crimes such as kidnapping, assassination, armed robbery, farmer and herdsmen clash, cattle rustling and others related crimes. These crimes are giving the Command a great concern’, he noted.

‘However in these trying times coupled with the insufficient logistics, the force is resilient in curbing these crimes and restoring peace and providing adequate protections for lives and properties of the good people of Oyo State in particular and Nigeria in general.” Olukolu expressed

Penpushing also reports that, in another development, Oyo Police Command has promoted the total number of 115 policemen to various ranks, with a call on the newly promoted officers to always continue to discharge their duties with professional manner.

The Commissioner in his remark said, “I congratulates you all and your families for this your latest post, I urged you all to use the new post to improve the level of your choice of carriers, your profession is to ensure safety of lives and properties of the citizenry, and this you must do with professionalism.”

Penpushing reports that, those promoted include; one Superintendent of Police to the post of Assistant Commissioner of Police, four Assistant Commissioners of Police to the rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police, one Chief Superintendent of Police to Assistant Superintendent of Police, 44  Assistant Commissioners of Police to Deputy Superintendent of Police, while over 100 Inspectors were promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Police.
