Paternity scandal: Adamu Nuru committed no crime against our bank policy, says board

The Board of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has exonerated its immediate past Managing Director Adam Nuru in the controversy surrounding paternity scandal involving a former female staff of the bank, Moyo Thomas and her late husband, as well as Nuru

Penpushing reports that, the bank authorities said having reviewed the media allegations against Nuru, who was diplomatically eased out as the Managing Director, said it (board) found out that the embattled Nuru did not breach  the bank  policies

The board, however, did not give details of its findings and submission, but in a statement on Tuesday said it had earlier reviewed media allegations made in late 2020 against the former Managing Director and did not establish any contravention of its policies.

Penpushing further reports that, following the ‘controversial exit’ of Nuru, the board  appointed its first female Managing Director Yemisi Edun, who has been in acting capacity for months to continue where the embattled former Chief Executive Officer stopped.

The female Chief Executive Officer, a former Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of the bank,  it is recalled took over tentatively in January to allow aformal inquiry into the allegation against Nuru
