Oyo state chief judge inaugurates judges for family court

The Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Muntar Abimbola on Monday inaugurated judges and officers to oversee affairs of the newly created family court disclosed that issues relating to trampling with children’s rights and family will be adequately handled.

Penpushing reports that Abimbola while speaking assured that with the take off of the family court and the inauguration of  the members of the court, the people of Oyo state can approach the court on issues affecting children and family in general.

The Chief Judge stressed that the family court “is not restricted to only lawyers,” as  NGOs, civil society Organisations, parents and concerned persons can approach the court on issues that bothers on the family.

Penpushing further reports that  Abimbola emphasized that children are entitled to the fundamental human rights and that their rights must be protected in everyway by all and sundry, and charged that all hands must be on deck to ensure that the provision of court is justified.

The Chief judge noted that laws can only be made efficient when the law made by the legislative is interpreted by the spirit of functionality,stressing that all the officers of the court to work hard to bring justice at all times.

Penpushing also reports the chief judge said  a monitoring team will be set up to check the level of enforcement and ensure that compliance of the child’s Right Law will be provided for by the court.

Meanwhile, Justice Adenike Adeeyo while speaking on behalf of the family court judges and officers  assured that the court will deliver on its mandate and ensure there is accelerated hearing on any case brought before the court,and  urged everyone to endeavour to approach the court when the need arises.
