Oye Ibidapo-Obe for burial February 16 in his Ilesa hometown
The late former Vice Chancellor University of Lagos (UNILAG), Prof Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe who transited on January 3. is to be buried in Ilesa his home town of Osun State on February 16, 2021.
Penpushing authoritatively reports that, the burial arrangement has is that there will be a Special Senate tribute on 10th February at the University of Lagos Auditorium Lagos, and tribute night on the 13th February from 5pm at Trinity House, Zion Center, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The burial programme also has it that on 15th February, there will be a commendation service by 8am at Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, Lagos followed with a Christian Wake Keep in Ilesa, while funeral service will hold on the 16th February at Holy Trinity Cathedral Omofe, Ilesa, Osun State.
Penpushing further reports that, Ibidapo-Obe was working on a book centered on the history of Ijesaland, with the manuscript at completion stage and searching for a reputable book publisher for the manuscript when the sad incident occurred on Sunday evening of January,3 2021.
The family, has however, concluded as part of the obsequies, a tribute publications authored by the late academic will be produced with former President Olusegun Obasanjo writing the foreword
Penpushing media has mourned the demise of Prof Oye-Ibidapo-Obe, a frontline stakeholders of Penpushing platform,recalling that the late cerebral Professor was the first guest lecturer at the maiden edition of the organisation’s annual anniversary lecture held at Marque events centre, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, four years ago.
The founder of Penpushing Media, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji who is cousin to the late Professor lamented the sudden exit, stressing that he could not believe the sad incident, recalling that he still spoke with him on phone few days before the sad incident and there was no sign of death
‘Am sad over this. I still spoke with him few days ago. I am shocked to bone marrow. My cousin is gone. This is sad moment for me. I have lost a reliable and valuable family member. It’s really sad. He was our first guest lecturer at the maiden edition of Penpushing Annual Anniversary Lecture. I pray God grant him eternal rest’, Kayode-Adedeji wrote
