Open up on matrimonial abuse to avoid untimely death, Reverend Achudume advises wives
The wife of General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Reverend Fola Achudume has called on wives and mothers facing turbulent matrimonial maltreatment to voice out early enough, to avoid untimely death
Penpushing reports that, Achudume made the call in an interview with journalists on gender-based violence in the society, noting that many women have lost their lives due to their silence over challenges they are facing in their matrimonial homes
The Women’s Advocate urged women to develop the courage to speak out whenever they are being maltreated or victimised by their husbands, noting that some women who are molested or maltreated in marriage feel comfortable opening up to those they can trust and confide in.
Penpushing further reports that she emphasised that help cannot come their way if they remain silent, adding that the church has continued to do its best in addressing the issue as well as others as they affect the society.
The motivational speaker, in similar vein called on those in positions of authority on the need to discharge their duties with the fear of God, and also be open to corrections, constructive advice and criticisms, stressing that nobody is an Island of knowledge.
Penpushing also reports that, Achudume pointed out that, leadership position comes with great responsibility, transparency and accountability, positing that people in positions of authority remain answerable to the governed.
The cleric while noting that learning is a continuous process added that no matter an individual’s position in life, he or she remains a student in the University of life, and also called on people with a well grounded foundation in Christ to embrace politics with the view to bringing about the much desired change in the country.
