Ooni of Ife honours Iyalode Lawson with Amazon Award
The Iyalode of Yorubaland, Iyalode Alaba Lawson is to add another feather to her cap of successes, as the cradle of Yoruba, Ile-Ife in South-West of Nigeria concluded arrangements to bestow on her an Amazon award.
Penpushing reports that, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has approved the award as part of his 5th coronation anniversary scheduled to hold on November 27, 2020, where the former President Olusegun Obasanjo will deliver a lecture titled, “Five years of a quintessential Royal eagle on the Throne: Setting the pace for one Source, one Culture and one Race”
The Chairman of the Planning Committee, Prince Ademakinwa Adereti alongside other members which include Bimbo Alagbe, Babatunde Oyewole and Anniversary Committee Project Manager, Princess Olabisi Kayode-Adedeji had earlier visited Lawson to convey the royal father’s approval to her in Abeokuta.
Penpushing further reports that, Lawson in response to the award expressed appreciation to the monarch, and also accepted the honour, adding that she would personally attend the functions scheduled to hold at prestigious Premier Hotels, Ibadan

‘I hereby accept the great honour and will be there personally to celebrate with His Imperial Majesty on his 5th Coronation Anniversary. Ade a pe l’ori, bata a pe l’ese Oba wa. Igba odun, odun kan. Long live our King’, Iyalode stated in response.
