Oyo State government begins enumeration of commercial vehicles to curb insecurity

The Oyo State Government has commenced registration for all the commercial vehicles across the state in its bids towards ensuring security of lives and properties of its residents.

Penpushing reports that the  the Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde  explained that the Security and Planning Database Enumeration  was purposely meant for all commercial vehicle operators in the state.

The governor, who was represented at the flagging off of the event by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. AbdulMojeed Mogbonjubola said that the exercise will focused on data capturing of all commercial vehicle operators in the state including taxi, buses, luxurious buses, and trailers among others.

Penpushing further reports that Mogbonjubola maintained that it is mandatory for commercial vehicle operators within the above listed clusters to be captured into the OYSAP DATABASE as a preliminary requirement to operate in Oyo State as a Commercial Transport Operator.

The Deputy Chief of Staff however warned that failure to do so means one is operating illegally in the state emphasizing that acknowledgment slip will be issued immediately to those who registered.

Penpushing also reports that dignitaries at the event include the Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on Youth and Sports, Mr. Kazeem Bolarinwa, the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Road Traffic Management Agency, (OYTMA) Dr Akin Fagbemi, Special Adviser to Governor on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Bayo Akande, and the Chairman, Park Management System (PMS), Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi popularly called Auxiliary among others.
