Ondo Governorship poll: Governor Akeredolu again loses officials to Zenith Labour Party

The Ondo State Governor, Rotmi Akeredolu has again lost four of his staunch officials and supporters to Zenith Labour Party(ZLP) ahead of the Governorship election scheduled to hold October 10.

Penpushing reports that, the latest defectors include: Commissioner for Oil Producing Commission (OSOPADEC),Bisi Ilawole, a two-time Chairman of Irele Local Government, Nicholas Akinbiola and Daisi Onetufo, a chieftain of the party and a former chairman of Ileoluji/Okeigbo and lawmaker representing the constituency, Folagbade Gbemibade.

The Commissioner in his resignation letter addressed to the Governor, expressed appreciation to him for giving him (Ilawole) the opportunity to serve the state in the capacity of a Commissioner in the intervention agency.

“Sir, it is my profound gratitude for the rare privilege given to me under your administration to serve as a commissioner representing the good people of Ilaje Oil Producing Communities,” part of his letter reads.

The Chairman of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Joseph Akinlaja while speaking after he received them at the party Secretariat, said the interest of the folks would be considered.

Penpushing further reports that, earlier last week a senior aide of the Governor, Andrew Ogunsakin  resigned his appointment from the government, and threw his weight behind Deputy Agboola Ajayi, ahead of the state Governorship election.
