OGUN POLICE COMMISSIONER, EDGAL SET UP CITIZEN’S COMPLAINT CENTRE, TO EXPOSE DUBIOUS OFFICERS
The Commissioner called on the public to always share their sad experiences in the hands of bad eggs in police, emphasizing that the Citizen’s Complaint Centre, is a platform for the people to report bad misconducts of Police Officers and also crimes happening in their society.
“One of the things that will ensure people regain Police trust in us is to give platform for people to report Police misconduct to us, we are not unaware of these bad eggs, but just as we have good hardworking conscientious policemen, we also have bad ones. So we are working with the people to flush out the bad ones’, he said.
“I am happy to inform you that we set up the Citizen’s Complaint Centre at the State Command Headquarters, Eleweran. It is a centre opened 24/7, you can report Police misconduct at anytime, and in your local dialect, be it Yoruba, Hausa or English and action will be taken, or if you are asked for money or harassing you” he said.
Penpushing further reports that, the Commissioner who led journalists round the Citizen’s Complaint Centre , also disclosed that the command has procured ten dedicated lines for such complaints and urged the people to call any of the dedicated numbers and be rest assured that action will be taken on it.
The Police boss, announced the numbers, as include; 07081970735, 08189009113, 08058701189, 07083817391, 08164684395, 08058701143, 08060148672, 07080154562, 08064741658 and 08064071875, just as he also enjoined the people to work together with the Police towards ensuring crime free society..
“If you go to any Police station now and any Police man or woman asked you for money before your matter or your matter is rejected, Please call any of these dedicated numbers and be rest assured that any of the Senior officers will take action on it. We will still be partnering with the press and other stakeholders to tackle the issue of cultism and drug-abuse in Ogun State” he said.
