OGUN JOURNALISTS SET UP ELECTORAL COMMITTEE FOR FRESH ELECTION

The National body of the union, thereafter set up a caretaker committee headed by Kayode Taiwo, of Ogun State Television, which also include  Segun Lawole of Nigerian Television Authority (Secretary),Adewole Dosunmu of Ministry of Information(Member),Ayo Obadimu(Local Government Information(Member) and Dele Ayodo of Consolidated Chapel(Member) as members to organize a befitting election

Penpushing further reports that, at the congress presided over by the caretaker committee, it agreed that, the screening and credential committee should include; Comrade Lanre Ogunyinka as Chairman, Ayo Obadinmu (Secretary) Kemi Orunsolu (Member) Ernest Nwokolo (member),John Felix (member) Ahmed AbuSatah (member)  and Razak Ayinla, member.

The Congress in a communiqué issued and signed by Ernest Nwokolo of Correspondent Chapel, as Chairman, Aregbesola Tunde of Local Government Information Chapel–Secretary and Olasunkanmi Akinlotan of Federated Chapel as member gave mandate to the electoral committee to organize and conduct a credible election in line with the provisions of the constitution of the Union.

Penpushing also reports that, the congress resolved that, a five-man Disciplinary Committee should be setup with a representative each from National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Broadcast, Print and Information Chapels.

The communiqué also said the Caretaker Committee of the union should take over the administration of the WHATSAPP loop of the Council from the nullified Executive, stressing that failure to relinquish, should result in sanctions. 

Penpushing reports that, the congress attended by eleven chapels commended the  Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun on the appointment of a member of the Council, Mr Femi Ogbonikan, the This Day Correspondent in the State as Consultant  on Media, adding that the State Information Chapel reaffirmed their membership with the State Council
